A common concern for people trying to lose weight is if rice and potatoes will cause them to gain weight.

What is interesting is that carbs rarely get converted to body fat.
Here’s a video of a young woman explaining how she lost weight off a low fat high carb diet that included potatoes and rice.
I will say that potatoes are a bit better for fat loss.
The reason for this is that rice has more calories per ounce than potatoes.
Contrary to what trendy low carb diet experts would like you to believe, carbs aren’t the reason for the high obesity rate.
