Are Low Fat Diets Bad for Hormone Levels?

One of the questions we have received is if eating low fat messes with testosterone levels.

For 15 years I've helped fashion models get lean for photoshoots. Use my plan to Lose 5-10 pounds of PURE body fat in 14 days.

We have also had women inquire if it was healthy for their hormones, etc.

My answer: Fats can increase testosterone production, but avoiding carbs increases cortisol levels. Cortisol is a stressor to your body that messes with all hormonal balance in men and women.

Carbs greatly help in this regard, by reducing cortisol.

The short answer is that it balances out.

This is why there are successful low fat vegan athletes, bodybuilders, etc.

Our High Carb Fat Loss course keeps the fats to around 10%.

Here’s a testimonial from a customer who recently had his testosterone levels checked:

“After following this style of eating for quite a few months, and going from lean to shredded, I was pretty concerned about my T levels, so I went and got them checked. I’m 35 years old, sport single digit body fat (from following this eating strategy), and my T levels were 815ng/DL. That would put me in the high reference range of natural testosterone levels for any age group.” -Adam D.

The body can thrive on this type of diet.

There are countless examples of people who live long healthy lives eating low fat diets.

Here’s my favorite…

A man named Dr. Ellsworth Wareham.

Dr. Ellsworth Wareham

Dr. Ellsworth Wareham trained cardiac surgeons until the age of 95.

He adopted a vegan diet 50 years ago after seeing much more plaque in the arteries of meat-eaters vs those who follow a vegan and vegetarian diet.

Dr. Ellsworth Wareham quote

I’m NOT saying that low fat will cause you to live to 100+.

I’m just surprised by the sheer number of people convinced that high carb and low fat is unhealthy.

Here’s a heart surgeon,…

…who is saying to keep cholesterol under 140 and that a low fat plant-based diet is the best way to do it.

A lot of low carb advocates try to discount the effect of cholesterol.

meat and cholesterol

Dr. Wareham disagrees.

Maybe he’s wrong.

If his long healthy life is an example of being wrong, I’m fine with being wrong as well 🙂

All joking aside…

I have ZERO hesitation in recommending our low fat approach to getting lean.

One thing I also forgot to mention in a previous article…

There are 5 “blue zones” around the world.

The 5 Blue Zones

These are areas with a higher percentage of people who live past 100.

There is only one city in the US that can be considered a blue zone.

Loma Linda, California.

Due to religious reasons, they largely eat a meat-free diet and consume mainly grains, fruits, and starches.

They live long healthy lives off of a high carb low fat diet.

Anyway…

Low carb is trendier right now.

I just think Mark’s high carb diet has better Real World proof.
