Some people believe you should train abs every day and others claim to train them like “any other body part”.
The advice is different depending on your goals.

Firm flat abs require a different approach than blocky deep six pack abs.
Here’s a video explaining how often to work your abs.
Scott (guy in video) recommends training 4 times per week if you want a deep six pack abs.
He also explains that for flat firm abs you don’t need as much volume or frequency.
Here’s his abs workout setup.
- FIRST 2 DAYS – Heavy weight for 12-15 reps.
- SECOND 2 DAYS – Light Weight for 30-50 reps.
I don’t think you have to do it just like this.
I almost think you could simply alternate heavy days with lighters days to simplify this.
[Tip] If I was to pick one exercise that works the entire ab area well, I would probably go with Ab Wheel Rollouts.
