Intermittent fasting for women presents special challenges that men don’t have to deal with.
Most studies have been done on men, so I have been looking specific info on women when it comes to intermittent fasting for weight loss.

Female rats are more active in response to fasting when they are supposed to be sleeping.
Intermittent Fasting likely affects sleep quality in a negative way for women, when compared to men.

Some other differences between men and women?
*Insulin sensitivity improved in men but not in women.
*Glucose tolerance decreased in women but not in men.
*Triglyceride levels decreased in men but not in women.
Summary: It looks as if men benefit more from eating this way than women. Intermittent fasting can still work for women it is just not as easy compared to when men use this method for fat loss.
