I found a video which examines how your body changes when you stop exercising for 30 days.
Here’s one of the more interesting points.
If you stop training for 2 weeks, your VO2 Max declines considerably.
One of the reasons you want to maintain a high VO2 Max is that aerobic fitness helps your body become more efficient at burning stored fat.

I recommend making exercise a life-long habit where you do your best to not take a break.
The positives definitely outweigh any negatives.
Another point is that exercise has been shown to slow down aging.
