How to Stay Lean With Minimal Hunger

Getting lean requires an energy deficit.

Meaning, you burn more calories than you are consuming.

This energy deficit can happen with lowering calories substantially…

…or using a less strict diet and getting more exercise.

I personally prefer eating to where I’m satisfied and being more active and working out 5+ times per week, etc.

Some people try to get lean with diet alone.

I’d say MOST people trying to lose weight focus mainly on DIET instead of exercise.

Is this the best approach?

Is it easier to stick to a deficit caused by calorie restriction or created through exercise?

A recent study looked at this, Titled:

Appetite and gut peptide responses to exercise and calorie restriction. The effect of modest energy deficits.

This study found that appetite increased with diet, but NOT with exercise.

“An energy deficit of ~1475 kJ stimulated compensatory increases in appetite when induced via calorie restriction but not when achieved by an acute bout of exercise.”

I think a combo of a solid diet plan AND exercise is best.

The trick to getting lean is to maintain a calorie deficit.

You can do this with diet alone.

Especially if you eat in a way that limits your body’s ability to store fat.

I just think that exercise makes it really easy to stay lean.

This study may explain why this is the case.

Both my Women’s Course and Men’s Course stress the importance of creating an energy deficit through exercise.

The lifting part of the workout is geared towards firm defined muscles without excess size (slim, sleek and stylin’).

The workouts have a cardio component as well.

Society is becoming less and less active.

Don’t fall into this trap.

The only way to stay lean and healthy long-term is with regular exercise.
